The MAIL has announced 14 quality Control Specialist jobs to check, control, and assure the quality of physical works for all ongoing sub-project. Additionally, the position holder is responsible for reporting to the Regional Manager/ Sr. Q.C. Engineer and providing technical support to all subprojects.
About Ministry of Agriculture irrigation and Livestock MAIL:
The Ministry of Agriculture Irrigation and Livestock (MAIL) implements “On Farm Water Management (OFWM)” Project. This project financed by the Afghanistan Reconstruction Trust Fund (ARTF). Duties and Responsibilities:
- The position holder must visit the site to ensure the work and implementation meet the E.A.T.S standard.
- Check and guide all the contactors about the contract requirement and technical specification to ensure civil work is done according to engineering standards.
- Reviewing the materials submitted by contractors for compliance with the BoQ and technical specifications.
- Prepare a report about the Quality Control of the field, suggest corrective actions, and document it daily.
- Ensuring compliance of Q.C. requirements with the approved Q.C. plan of the subproject.
- Making sure the subproject implementation is according to the scheduled plan.
- making sure the quality of work is according to the agreed-upon schedule.
- Assisting the contractors to make enough provisions for allowing the flow of canal water for irrigation. And build a temporary pedestrian path or establishing alternate roads.
- Moving and going temporarily to the adjacent region on the project’s emergency statues to execute the project field activities.
- Conduct training sessions for the contractor engineers and P.D.A.I.L. technical staff as needed.
- Establishing a strong relationship with I.A., Community, C.D.C., and Contractors.
- Having the ability to facilitate site meetings with T.P.M.A., Contractors, and C.D.C. Members.
- Must be able to identify the variation in design at the site, share them with the related team, and manage them during sub-project implementation.
- Check each 25 Cubic meter concrete work by taking a sample and testing it in the region’s contracted lab.
- Solve any technical problems during the construction in coordination with CDC/IA Social, Environmental, and Gender Units’ representatives and regional managers.
- Perform other required duties assigned by the line manager and Sr. Q.C. Engineer.
Job Requirements:
- Interested job seekers should have a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or other related fields. (Higher degree is desirable)
- The Quality Control engineer should have over seven years of experience in the related fields for bachelor and 5 years for master degree.
- Being fluent in Dari and Pashtu Language.
- Being professional in the English language.
- The person should have experience in the estimation of irrigation scheme structures, watershed management structures, and vertical structures.
- Having experience in quality controlling of the irrigation system and watershed management.
- Good organizational skills.
- The person should have good interpersonal skills and be committed to working in a team-oriented and multi-cultural environment.
- Must be able to travel all provinces of Afghanistan.
- Excellent strong management skills, and communication skills.
