The National Statistics and Information Authority (NSIA) was created in 1351 as an autonomous governmental administration to develop an integrated scientific system for statistics and ensure the harmonization and coordination of Afghanistan’s statistical and information management activities. NSIA has conducted population censuses and national statistical surveys since its inception, coordinating with collaborators such as government departments, international development partners, non-governmental organizations, research institutions, and non-state agencies to avoid duplication of knowledge and data.
